The Perth Circumcision Clinic was set up by Dr Leon Levitt, an experienced Western Australian General Practitioner Obstetrician with over 30 years of experience in circumcisions in neonates (boys under the age of 12 weeks). He has performed over 20,000 circumcisions in the clinical setting. The Clinic has been operating within Dr Levitt’s medical practice throughout this time and 2011 began operations as a separate entity.
Whilst Dr Levitt doesn’t perform circumcision for children over the age of 12 weeks, he can provide valuable information and a referral for the procedure to be done with a Specialist.Dr Levitt believes that older children
requiring circumcisions should see a Paediatric Surgeon for surgery under general anaesthetic in a hospital, not in an outpatient clinic setting.
Baby Steps Health Centre is a team of health experts working together to meet the needs of parents when they need it most.
Baby Steps began with the observation that in the very first weeks of parenting, most parents have difficulties with feeding, settling and generally knowing what to do, yet they have been let out of hospital after a few days with only a nurse visit scheduled for follow up. At a time when they are most stressed and in need of support, they feel the most alone.
GP and Obstetrician Dr Leon Levitt set up Baby Steps with the initial goal of meeting the needs of new parents, gathering all the health care professionals they might need together in one place.
As this early parenting project developed, several other strong parent needs were presented to him, and he responded by incorporating solutions for parents in the child development, eczema and food allergy spaces as well.
Baby Steps has become a unique place where parents can access the combined expertise of a range of health professionals, for seamless, comprehensive care for their family.
